Dr. Nina Karwowska was born and raised in Texas and attended the University of Texas for 3 years before receiving early acceptance to dental school. She earned her dental degree from Columbia University and her medical degree from Louisiana State University. She completed her residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

She currently works in private practice in Alameda and is also a trauma staff surgeon at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, where she operates on patients with maxillofacial injuries, cysts/tumors, and/or infections. Dr. Karwowska is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She is active in mentorship of pre-dental and dental students and passionate about educating future generations. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and climbing mountains, scuba diving, and traveling.
